Course Description

Objectives and competences

  • the ability to distinguish between various methodological approaches in in translation studies and  applied linguistics;
  • the ability to transfer theoretical to individual research work;
  • the ability to understand and evaluate theoretical principles, as well as to transfer them into practice;
  • the ability to identify and solve problems which arise in the research process;
  • the ability to work individually with information technology;
  • to develop spoken and written academic communication and argumentation

Content (Syllabus outline)

Oral defense of the paper. Students present their seminar papers to the seminar group, using a powerpoint presentation.


Each teacher will present the readings according to the content of each seminar at the beginning of the year in his or her presentation of the seminar topic. There will be no more than five items on each list.


a)      Enrollment in the third academic year of Interlingual Communication.

Previous enrollment in the Elective Final Seminar I course.


Type (examination, oral, coursework, project):

Seminar paper, oral defense.

Assessment scale: 6–10 (positive) or 1–5 (negative); in line with the Statute of the University of Ljubljana and the faculty's examination rules.
